Tell your story ...

Tell your story to your closest friend,
Have some tissues near.
Tell it to your lover,
Whisper in their ear.
Tell it in a story, tell it in a song
But don't let anyone tell you
That what you say is wrong.
Tell it to the nightingale
That sings in Berkley Square.
Tell it to whichever God
In mantra or in prayer
Tell it to the mailman
When he drops off your post,
Tell it to the living
Or tell it to a ghost.
Tell it to a criminal,
Tell it to a cop
Tell it to the cashier
Down at your local shop.
Tell it to the Christians,
Make them understand
That England is no longer
A green and pleasant land.
Tell it in a picture painted just for you,
Write it down on toilette paper
Flush it down the loo.
Tell it to whoever,
Give your pain a name
The ones who are important
Will love you just the same.

Tell it for the child cryng deep inside,
Tell them it will be okay,
There is no need to hide.
It's difficult the first time
But have a go, you'll see
There's healing in the telling
It will set you free...

Life is a journey

whether we choose our own destiny or not,
We each have our own journey to make.
On this journey we are guaranteed one thing,
One day our journey will come to an end.
But remember wherever it takes us, or what path we take,
The stars will always shine and a smile has no price.

I saw you coming

I saw you coming
I melted away
U make me feel so small
I don't know where I belong

My bubbles into ripples
Now I sense you are gone

Fade away from light of day

A safe place to be
A haven for me
I find u utilise
The strengths in me

And u know
You can step on me
And I know you take comfort
In this liberty

But look under you feet and you will find
Some stains
That will follow you deep in time

The woman in me
Something that I miss
The woman in me
I can feel her insist

She visits leaves her trail
And from this tortured soul
I rise to greet her

Infamous roaring

Infamous roaring
In the outrage by the sea
I dream of whales
Soothing home to me

Beggars on the sand
Feeble clawing
Open hands

Them whales can save me
Save me whales
Come fill me heart
With sea water
And sails

Carry me
Ridin' over
Swollen waves
Feed me
Salt biscuits
And wrap me
In little squids tails.

Summertime

When rabbits are tasting
They fall to their knees
If it's gumdrops
They're suckin'
They play hopscotch
With ease

If it's jelly babies day
They will make hay
And lie
With their tum's in the sun

When the cornflower has arrived
They're airing for a prize
And knit with noodles
A rabbit surprise.

You/Me

I got it from you
Misunderstood you

You liked to fool me
Ridicule me

As I experience you
I understand you
I got this from you
I got it from you
My world is changing
It's rearranging
Defences weaken
As I see in
I see inside you
I got it from you

I get sad for you
Want to call you
But I know it's wise
You know how time flies

Sometimes I see you
See myself in you
Can't say I like it
But gain some insight

As years are driven
You'll be forgiven
I see inside you
I got it from you

I got it from you

I got from You.

Jay Sioux 1998.

Well I gotta wounded but...

Well I gotta wounded but Don't worry I cleaned the place down
And I
Still remember your hand and your frown
And I was kind of certain that you loved me
And the men just like you were prophecy

Your rules your illusions
Won't keep me in my place
No longer stifle my presence
Insult my grace

You see
There's power in my weakness
Power in my soul
Power all together
It's makin' me whole.

Truth fairy story

The woman walked along
She knew a song
It was in her
But she could not say it

If she could only sing the song
Without the worry of getting it wrong
All would be well
For the woman

The illusion of time
Interfered with her mind
Interfered with her step
She paced quicker

Soon she came upon a creature
Who told her she was weaker
He wrapped his thoughts around her
And held her very tight

Now her doubts had set
Thanks to the creature
She had met
And she bowed her head
As the darkness
Touched her core
For many days she could only gaze
at the blanket of nothing around her
Then a sense of dread
turned everything red
and fought with all parts of her soul

And again she became still and she became quite quiet
She listened and she heard ticking the ticking of her soul

She jumped to her feet and moved to the beat
The beat of her own inner rhythm

Inspired she asked the wind and trees
Did they believe
What the creature had told her
They could not speak but whispered to her ear
That the creature was a bit fat liar!

She laughed at the creature
And so it fell away
Leaving the woman to dance sing and play
